John P. Farrell – Managing Attorney
John P. Farrell, known as Johnny, is the Managing Attorney at The Law Offices of John P. Farrell, LLC in Omaha, Nebraska. With extensive experience in Business Law, Civil Litigation, Personal Injury, Construction, Criminal Law, Estate Planning, Intellectual Property, Labor and Employment Law, and Real Estate, John is dedicated to providing exceptional legal services with a client-focused approach.
John holds a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) from New Mexico State University and a Juris Doctor (JD) from Creighton University School of Law. His strong background in both business and law allows him to handle complex legal challenges with confidence and precision.
Admitted to practice in Nebraska and the United States Federal Court, John is an active member of the Nebraska State Bar Association, Omaha Bar Association, and The Robert M. Spire American Inns of Court.
Outside of his legal practice, John serves on the Board of Directors for STEMAHA and supports local organizations like the Open Door Mission and Heart Ministries. A former PGA member for 20 years and a licensed real estate broker, John is also a student pilot and past member of the Coast Guard Auxiliary, reflecting his commitment to personal and professional growth.

Joshua Melgares- Paralegal
Joshua is a detail-oriented paralegal who manages client intakes, filings, and data while learning the ropes and keeping the office running smoothly. New to the field, he quickly applies his background in data entry and leadership to adapt and grow.
Inspired by family attorneys, he pursued law and is proud of returning to school in his late 20s. Outside work, Joshua is a passionate music enthusiast with a growing collection of vinyl, CDs, and cassettes. He also enjoys, gaming, cooking, and relaxing with friends and family.
Joshua is receptive, thoughtful, and intrepid— His drive to continually learn and improve keeps him motivated to take on new challenges all traits that make him a valuable asset to the team and a trusted support for clients.

Vanessa Carboney- Spanish Speaking Paralegal
Vanessa was born in Omaha, raised in Mexico, and moved back nine years ago. After mastering English, she found interpreting a natural extension of her skills, particularly in healthcare.
She’s completing a BA in Psychology and Chemistry and enjoys helping her community through legal interpretation. Working at the Law Offices of John Farrell, she deepens her legal knowledge to serve diverse clients without language barriers. In her spare time, she plays soccer, travels, and keeps learning new things

Marcus James Hurtz – Summer Intern
Marcus James Hurtz is a summer intern at the Law Offices of John P. Farrell, where he assists with day-to-day client needs over the phone while supporting attorneys and paralegals throughout the office. In his role, Marcus is gaining valuable real-world experience in the legal profession and learning what it takes to serve clients in a professional legal setting.
A graduate of Creighton Preparatory School, Marcus is currently studying English at the University of Mississippi, Ole Miss, on the Pre-Law track. His interest in law began after taking an Intro to Law class in high school, which helped inspire his path toward the legal field.
Outside of work, Marcus enjoys spending time with friends, attending music concerts, and cheering on Ole Miss football. Guided by the motto “Ain’t Life Grand,” Marcus describes himself as calm, adaptable, and consistent—qualities that help him bring a steady and positive presence to the team.
